Why Vanity of Vanities?
Before I get to my blog’s title, I’ll tell you why it’s even here. The most simple and straightforward answer to this blog’s purpose:
To share…
- Jesus (often referred to by His Aramaic name, Yeshua, just because I think it’s cooler)
- My story
- My thoughts
- My struggles
- What Yeshua (see, isn’t that cooler?) is teaching me
- And anything else I find important, necessary, funny, ridiculous, or entertaining on any given day.
I honestly just write about whatever I think about writing. I go through preachy spells and silly spells and everything in between. I try very hard to be honest and I am always learning how to overcome this weird (and often idolatrous) brand of Christianity we Americans have manufactured. I am always on a quest to be more useful and more authentic and, mostly, more worshipful.
In a sense, the thesis of my blog would be: Everything exists because of Him, through Him, and for Him. Focusing on anything else is meaningless. Or, you know, vanity.

Vanity of vanities! All is vanity!

But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish in order that I may gain Christ.
~Apostle Paul
